With our software program, which has been certified by an independent institute, we calculate the cradle-to-gate CO2 footprint - ISO 14040-44-2006 - of our materials from our production facilities in Europe/China/USA. In this way, we give our customers, including those in the automotive industry, the opportunity to assess the components they manufacture and use them for their own further calculations. Digital Mould Management
The Haidlmair subsidiary Digital Moulds offers a digitalization solution for tool and mould making, primarily for tool monitoring and tool management. The automotive manufacturer BMW is also convinced by these innovative solutions. After all, the use of artificial intelligence or digitalization solutions is also part of the premium car manufacturer's repertoire. And this is exactly where Digital Moulds is now supporting the OEM. In vehicle development and production, the tools used to manufacture components play a major role in production. Injection moulds in particular are required for the production of an almost unmanageable range of vehicle-specific plastic parts. At the BMW Group alone, this means countless tools worldwide. This make the use of an appropriate digitalization solution necessary. In tool management, BMW is implementing the digitalization of the supply chain with the help of digital IoT solutions. The aim is to turn the previous 'block' of tool steel into 'smart' means of production. BMW makes this possible with a tracking system for injection moulds that transmitts the current location, operating status and output of the mould in real-time. The data communication of this digitalization solution takes place via the GSM network and is also available globally. The system is installed according to the 'plug & play' principle. The Mould Monitoring device is characterized in particular by its very early integration into the production process. Mould Monitoring is used as early as the tool creation stage. Even at this early stage, mould specialists can track the location of the injection mould. Mould Monitoring also provides data on location, operating status and production. The digitalization solution informs those responsible automatically and at an early stage via the internal IPQ system, so suppliers also have an insight into the data.

DOMINO is "Product of the year 2026"
A driving force behind modern mould making The DOMINO project is a joint venture between HASCO, ARBURG and POLAR-FORM, which demonstrates how additive manufacturing, hot runner technology and collaborative development can set new standards in mould making. The focus is on a 3D-printed hot runner system that enables the in-situ injection moulding of numerous 2K components within a compact family mould – economical, precise and forward-looking. What is the DOMNO project? DOMINO is a technological concept study for modern mould making. The aim was to develop a tool concept that deliberately dispenses with classic 2K solutions such as cube tools or turntables and instead relies on a 3D-printed hot runner system. The result: A compact 32-cavity family mould that enables in-situ injection moulding of numerous 2K components – with high process stability, reduced cycle times and maximum design freedom. Award-Winning Innovation The joint project DOMINO has been awarded 1st place in the “Products of the Year 2026” competition by PolyFormNEXT magazine in the Tool and Mould Making category. The winners were determined through a reader vote among 50 nominated innovations across five categories. The award highlights DOMINO as a pioneering solution for the future of tool and mould making and injection moulding technology. This success reflects the strong collaboration between the project partners and their shared commitment to innovation, efficiency and digitalisation in modern manufacturing.

Efficient cleaning granules made in Germany: Introducing new ALBIS partner Granula Polymer
With their GranaClean® series, Granula Polymer produces ready-to-use cleaning granules that allows plastics processors to contribute to a strong circular economy. What concept drives this new ALBIS partner based in Groß-Umstadt near Darmstadt, Germany? We met Dr. Eva-Maria Langhammer, Co-Managing Director of the company and PhD chemist, for an interview. „If it has a screw and rotates, we can clean it” – has this always been Granula Polymer's guiding principle? Dr. Langhammer: This sentence originates from my father, Dr. Hubert Christ, who founded the company in 1996. Back then, Granula Polymer was a specialist for powder-coatable plastics. Ever since, we have always been confronted with the issue of cleaning plastic-processing machines. As a result, we have carried out intensive research on the subject, obtained a patent for ready-to-use cleaning granules, and have granted licenses. Since 2021, we have been active as a producer of our own GranaClean® brand.
