From the Yellow Bag to the Vehicle Interior
Plastic recyclates have been used in cars for a long time. Until now, however, this has rarely been the case in vehicle interiors. TechnoCompound has succeeded in realising PCR proportions of over 20 percent in interior components, provided that the compound used is suitable for this. In June 2024, an instrument panel carrier made of long-fibre-reinforced polypropylene (PP) with a significant proportion of PCR was produced for the first time. The material used had to fulfil both the required physical properties and strict quality standards in order to be approved for series production. The approved material, TechnoGreen PP LGF 20-10-04 L E, has a PCR content of 21% and thus enables a CO2 reduction of 15% compared to a compound made from virgin material. This innovative material opens up the possibility for car manufacturers and their system suppliers to significantly expand the use of PCR in vehicle interiors.

CO2 footprint and savings
Since 2023, TechnoCompound has had the CO2 footprint and CO2 savings for recyclate-based grades determined by its partner company ConClimate, stating the PIR/PCR ratio. These values are based on calculations with the Substain software, which provides the CO2 emissions (Scope 1, 2 and 3) including packaging on the basis of recognised emission factors. Example: Product with high CO2 savings potential (PCR/PIR combination) PP GF or PP EPDM T 20/10

Polyolefin-Compounds
The TechnoFin product range offers a broad portfolio of standard and special compounds and the possibility of implementing customised customer solutions. In addition to PP or HD-PE base polymers, a wide range of fillers and reinforcing materials are used. UV protection and impact modifiers, flame retardants or fillers to improve electrical conductivity, for example, extend the product range. Colour adjustments, antistatic, nucleated, scratch-resistant or low-emission grades are available to customer order. Densities of up to 3 g/cm³ can be achieved for applications where sound absorption takes centre stage. Typical applications include products for the automotive, electrical and packaging industries. TechnoFin Heat resistance up to 1000 h, strength and toughness, conductivity (ESD) Base polymers: PP, HD-PE From standard to special compounds: * Standard fillers: talcum, short glass fibre * Special fillers: magnetite, barium sulphate

Long glass fibre compounds
TechnoFiber stands for the most innovative long glass fibre compounds, with which we have been serving the most diverse markets in Europe, Asia and North America for over 10 years. Our portfolio is constantly evolving to meet the ever-growing and changing market and customer requirements. Today, we offer a wide range of high-quality technical and economical long glass fibre compounds. Our LGF compounds can be manufactured from raw materials based on virgin and recycled materials (PIR/PCR). They can also be modified to be emission-reduced, heat-stabilised or UV-stabilised. TechnoFibre Special strength and ductility Base polymers: PP and PA Ready to use: 20 to 60 % long glass fibre possible / concentrates: up to 60 % glass fibre content possible One focus in the TechnoFiber Premium segment is the implementation of demanding odour and emission requirements and represents the benchmark in the long glass fibre market. The TechnoFiber performance grades are used in technically demanding applications and offer the user economically attractive framework conditions. TechnoGreen Sustainable, recyclate-based long glass fibre reinforced compounds Base polymers: PP and PA Ready to use: 20 to 50 % long glass fibre possible The TechnoGreen product segment was originally developed specifically for automotive underbody applications. Today, TechnoGreen is used in a wide range of applications where environmental and price awareness are closely linked to technical properties.

Engineering plastics
The Engineering Plastics segment offers impressive properties with maximum cost efficiency. A large number of interesting material groups and common blends are offered or developed on a customised basis. TechnoDur outstanding hardness, rigidity and strength Base polymer: PBT Up to 50 % glass fibre reinforced TechnoDur PBT compounds are characterised by high hardness, rigidity and strength. Coupled with very good flow behaviour, favourable sliding and wear behaviour and very high toughness at sub-zero temperatures, our PBT compounds are an optimum solution for a wide range of customer requirements in the field of thermoplastics. TechnoPet Temperature resistance up to > 220 °C and low water absorption PET base polymer Up to 50 % glass fibre reinforced The TechnoPet range contains glass fibre reinforced and UV-stabilised compounds for outdoor use. TechnoPet compounds exhibit high rigidity and temperature resistance as well as dimensional stability with excellent surface quality and represent an extremely economical solution compared to other engineering plastics.

Engineering plastics
TechnoElast Elasticity and softness thanks to elastomers Base polymers: TPE-S, -O, -V Shore hardness A 50 - 90 and D30 - 60 TechnoElast TPE compounds combine the elasticity and softness of elastomers with the positive properties of thermoplastic processing. Simple processing, short cycle times and the possibility of multi-component injection moulding (e.g. TechnoFin PP housing with TechnoElast seal) coupled with very good recyclability are further advantages of our TechnoElast product group. TechnoMid Good impact strength and heat resistance Base polymer: PA6, PA66 Up to 50 % glass fibre reinforced The TechnoMid product range includes PA6, PA66 and copolyamide PA66/6 compounds based on virgin material, but also recyclate-based grades of various compositions. TechnoMid impresses with its excellent mechanical strength, high thermal resistance and good toughness even at low temperatures. Additional modification can be used to optimise the toughness and the sliding and friction behaviour or to create an application-oriented compound.
