TPX™ | Lightweight & Transparent Thermoplastic
TPX™ [by Mitsui Chemicals Inc.] TPX™ is the trade name for Polymethylpentene (PMP), a lightweight, transparent thermoplastic. Properties: Transparency: Offers excellent clarity and light transmittance, making it suitable for optical applications. Heat Resistance: Can withstand high temperatures, making it useful in applications requiring thermal stability. Chemical Resistance: Resistant to many chemicals, including acids and bases. Low Density: One of the lightest thermoplastics, which makes it ideal for applications where weight reduction is important. Low Surface Tension: Reducing adhesion and making it easy to clean. Applications: Optical Lenses: Used in lenses and light covers due to its clarity. Medical Devices: Employed in medical applications for its chemical resistance and transparency. Laboratory Equipment: Used for beakers, flasks, and other lab tools requiring chemical resistance and transparency. Advantages: Lightweight and Transparent: Combines clarity with low density for versatile use in various industries. Thermal and Chemical Stability: Performs well under high temperatures and in the presence of harsh chemicals. TPX™ by Mitsui Chemicals Inc. is valued for its unique combination of properties, making it suitable for specialized applications in medical, optical, and industrial fields.

Training
Since the foundation of SKZ in 1961, our mission has been the further education of engineers and specialists in the plastics industry. We welcome over 13,000 participants annually at our 6 training locations in Germany, and many more at in-house training courses worldwide. A genuine practical component in the courses is a key quality feature for effective continuing education. The SKZ therefore operates its own technical centres at all of its training locations.

Training and Education
Qualified employees are the driving force behind the success of your company. IKV develops training course concepts and media for basic and advanced training in plastics processing. IKV offers a variety of further training opportunities. In addition to regular seminars and specialist conferences, individual training courses can also be offered for plastics technology. A mix of practical application in the IKV's technical centres or on-site at your company and the theoretical basics, prepared by IKV experts, enables further training for your success.

Training and in-house production support for plastic technology and thermosets
Leading provider of on-site thermoset training, combining theory and practical experience directly at the machine. We also offer on-site production support, getting your processes up and running, optimizing them, and training your team on the machines. Perfect for production relocations or series launches. Benefit from Ingo Schwarz's over 50 years of thermoset experience and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sascha Englich's extensive expertise in plastics engineering. One- or two-day training courses for production staff, designers, quality control, and other departments. From the fundamentals of materials science to processing technologies, equipment, and the intricacies of individual topics. Training can be conducted in German, English, or Spanish. With on-site production support, we act as an extension of your team, assisting you directly in production where problems arise. This includes - troubleshooting and problem solving, - process setup and optimization - employee training. We have a special focus on reactive materials (thermosets) and high-performance thermoplastics.

Transformation of Metal into Plastic
With years of experience in converting metal components into plastic, we have helped OEMs improve their products, reduce costs, and streamline the manufacturing process. In comparison with machining metal components, plastic allows for more complex shapes to be molded at a lower cost. It is crucial to introduce and improve engineered plastic resins with the strength and durability to compete with metals. Aside from having higher impact strength, fatigue life, and recoverable deformation, plastic components often have better wear surfaces and lower friction.

TRIBOFORCE® - Our PFAS-free solutions for reducing friction and wear
TRIBOFORCE® is our product series of tribologically optimized compounds. The innovative materials improve the slide-friction behavior of mechanically and tribologically highly stressed parts, thus reducing wear and increasing the efficiency and service life of components that have to function smoothly under extreme conditions. In addition to minimizing friction losses at the expense of material and efficiency, the polymers counteract noise emissions caused by stick-slip effects, making them attractive materials for future markets such as e-mobility. The materials do not require the use of PTFE/PFAS or additional lubrication.
