      rapid cooling system

The energy-efficient inmex heating system is supplemented by cooling coils embedded in the barrel, through which cooling water can flow if necessary. The cooling system can be easily supplied from the machine's water distributor and controlled via an additional control module. After the cooling process, we recommend blowing out the pipes with compressed air to avoid the risk of blockages caused by evaporating residual water. Rapid cooling simplifies material changes where the barrel temperature needs to be reduced. Despite thermal insulation, the inmex barrel module cools down four times faster than a non-insulated standard unit in air. In addition, rapid cooling allows for time savings when rinsing after PEEK processing and offers a sensible approach to avoiding black spots. The rapid cooling can be retrofitted regardless of the manufacturer and, together with the innovative barrel heating, offers the greatest possible flexibility for the user. At our booth you have the opportunity to test a plasticizing unit with rapid cooling. Heat the unit to your desired temperature and cool it down again. Try it out for yourself and experience this innovative technology at our trade fair stand! We look forward to seeing you.

      Rear End Cover

It doesn't get any more efficient KURZ has developed this world first together with its subsidiary SCHÖFER. SCHÖFER’s Spinstack Mold tool technology is ideal for manufacturing 2K components using the In-Mold Decoration process (IMD). This composition of the materials ABS/PC and the transparent PMMA enables precisely defined backlighting without undesired light diffusion. As a result, both three-dimensional component geometries and structures for 3D light effects and light barriers can be implemented in a single work step. Deformation, contouring, and decoration are all done in one step. Finishing via hot stamping, digital printing, or the integration of touch sensors are also possible. There are solutions for all customer-specific requirements. This is more than 2K plastic injection molding, this is the highly efficient 2K-IMD-process! Ready-to-use component production A groundbreaking innovation is the new machine and process technology, which was developed together with the KURZ subsidiary SCHÖFER. The complex technical application is based on SCHÖFER’S high-end tool technology, which is ideally suited to the production of immediately ready-to-install components with large dimensions and enables the use of In-Mold Decoration technology (IMD) in combination with the 2K material mix. This means that both three-dimensional component geometries and structures for 3D light effects and light barriers can be implemented in a single, efficient work step. The rear-end-cover has a continuous closed surface and large-scale, seamless decoration. It consists of two different translucent plastics. The radar-permeable rear trim supports a wide range of assistance systems, including for autonomous driving. The component can be recycled as a whole and reused as a post-industrial compound.

Recompounds - Solutions for circular value creation

We offer solutions for polymer recycling that meet the requirements of one of the most important technologies of the future. Recompounds are an example of recycling engineering polymers to produce sustainable products based on industrial secondary raw materials. In addition to a comprehensive range of polymers and additives from the world’s leading manufacturers, we develop and produce compounds according to specific customer demands. The integration of alternative raw material sources into product development is becoming increasingly relevant. The recycling of reusable polymers from industrial production is an effective and sustainable solution for saving limited resources, reducing residual material quantities and emissions, and advancing the circular economy. Our recompounds are based on recycled production residues from the polymer industry, such as sprues or start-up parts. Recycling processes timely make the valuable raw materials available again for product development and processing. Innovative materials with specific properties are created from sorted regrind by compounding. These are reused in sophisticated technical applications, for example, for e-mobility or regenerative energies. The recycling concept enables reuse at a consistently high quality level. The properties of the recompounds can even be improved compared with the base material through targeted additives and modified to suit individual customer demands. For example, opaque to transparent materials and various color settings, such as for lighting applications like vehicle lighting, can be realized. With a view to circular value creation, we also advise customers on setting up their own circulation system to save resources and costs, achieve sustainability goals, prevent raw material shortages and supply bottlenecks, and secure competitiveness.
