      Drying technology

Maximum energy efficiency and communication options After more than twenty years in material drying and conveying, we have taken a giant step towards energy efficiency with a joint venture between Wenz Kunststoff GmbH and qip GmbH. With the CD, JD, FD, UD and HD dryer systems, we offer you compact and intelligent dryers that automatically optimize energy requirements by continuously adjusting the drying process with an available container volume of between 1.5 and 5,500 liters. This ensures reproducible and always identical drying results. The drying technology used is particularly reliable, the ring air outlets ensure fast and efficient drying. In addition, users do not need any silica gel for the process, the dryers are almost maintenance-free and guarantee constant drying performance for life with minimal running costs due to the relatively low energy consumption. The product range includes small-volume dryers, stand-alone dryers, top-mounted dryers and central dryers. They can be used individually, as central or decentralized drying systems with or without central or decentralized material supply or as a customer-specific special solution. With the experience we have gained over the last few decades, we can meet your highest demands for material drying with our qip dryers. Benefit from our know-how to reduce your CO2 emissions, guarantee absolute process reliability and ensure the transparency of material handling. We look forward to a future with optimal quality and a contribution to a better environment!

    2. Drywell Beistell- und Aufsatztrockner

      Drywell Beistell- und Aufsatztrockner

The compact Drywell side dryers are used flexibly for pellet drying directly next to the processing machines. Thanks to their small footprint, these auxiliary dryers can be integrated very easily into the storage areas of injection moulding machines and extruders. Drywell auxiliary dryers only require a power connection - compressed air and cooling water are not necessary. Thanks to fast operational readiness and easy input and optimisation of the drying parameters, plastic pellets can always be dried where they are needed in daily production - and as energy-efficiently as possible. Both the surfaces in contact with the pellets inside the drying hopper and the outer casing of the hopper are made of stainless steel. Thick-walled thermal insulation is inserted between the inner and outer shell of the drying hopper, which ensures that the process heat is retained in the hopper and not released into the environment. Drywell top-mounted dryers from Digicolor are used to dry free-flowing plastic pellets directly on the processing machine. The pellet dryer is adapted for this purpose directly on the machine flange of the injection moulding machine or extruder. This makes the energy-efficient dry air dryer easy to integrate into the production process. The pellet dryer can also be easily operated, monitored and optimised on the machine via the large touch panel. The drying hopper can be supplied with plastic pellets using either a single conveyor unit or a compact conveyor system. If several top-mounted dryers are used on many processing machines, a central conveyor system with a higher-level visualisation system is ideal for supplying granulate. Drywell pellet dryers are available as top-mounted dryers, side-mounted dryers or centralised drying systems.

    4. Duroplastic processing

      Duroplastic processing

Injection molding machines with closing forces ranging from 350 to 500 KN Injection moldings ranging from 0.2 to 100 grams in weight Duroplastic molding compounds are high-quality design materials which have a firm place in many engineering applications. With its excellent mechanical, chemical and electrical properties, Duroplast achieves impressive results during substitution of metals (e.g. aluminium and zinc die cast components). In contrast to thermoplastics, duroplasts consist of thermally irreversible cross-linked macromolecules. This results in a great many positive characteristics: High strength, rigidity and surface hardness High dimensional stability Low thermal expansion coefficient, uniformity of length, width and height Good thermomechanical behaviour Low creep tendency High chemical resistance No stress corrosion Low swelling High thermal resistance Favourable fire behaviour without halogenated flame retardants Safety reserves at temperature peaks High electrical and thermal insulating properties High resistance to media

    5. DWR Double-skin high wear-resistant stainless steel pipe bends

DWR Double-skin high wear-resistant stainless steel pipe bends

Our highly wear-resistant DWR double-skin pipe bends are available in two product versions: 1. “Product-on-product” version In this variant, the classic “double skin” comes into effect. After the wear has taken place on the internal pipe bend, you are conveying “product on product”. 2. DWR double-skin pipe bend „lined with concrete" In this variant, the double skin is lined with concrete, which reduces the signs of wear even further.

    8. e-mobility - orange parts

      e-mobility - orange parts

High requirements for the material With the radical shift from internal combustion engines to electric drives in vehicle construction, the demands on the plastics used have changed dramatically. For vehicles to keep up with the latest trends in charging times and range, they must be able to withstand voltages of up to 1,000 volts. The color orange is used in electric vehicles to clearly indicate which plastic-sheathed and current-carrying components are exposed to higher voltages. These plastics must meet much higher requirements for thermal aging resistance, flame retardancy and creepage resistance.Specially developed plastics are available for this purpose, such as Xytron PPS high dielectric strength from DSM or the PA6 compound Durethan BKV45FN04 with 45% glass fiber from LANXESS. We have already gained experience with these materials in several projects. Even with the high material requirements, acad is able to realize your pre-series, ramp-up or small series efficiently, quickly and in a cost-effectively.

    11. ECO-Consulting - We bring sustainability to your product development

ECO-Consulting - We bring sustainability to your product development

Sustainability is no longer just a “nice to have”, but a decisive success factor for companies. But what does this mean in concrete terms for companies, and what measures are necessary to ensure sustainable business in the long term? With the new Eco-Consulting approach (Eco: ecology and economy), BARLOG Plastics supports its customers in developing more sustainable processes and successfully implementing them in the production of plastic components. Sustainability from the idea to series production BARLOG Plastics is actively committed to reducing the CO₂ footprint - both in its own company and at its customers. In doing so, the company strives for improved sustainability along the entire supply chain. The focus is on a holistic approach that includes both suppliers ('upstream') and customers and their products ('downstream'). The 4 building blocks of ECO-Consulting With the ECO-Selection service, materials for plastic components are not only selected according to technical and economic criteria, but also taking into account sustainability and the resources of our planet. With the ECO-Design-Service BARLOG works closely with the customer to develop the best possible component design. In this process the principles of Design-for-Repair and Design-for-Recycling are incorporated into the design. ECO-Simulation is used to simulate production cycles in order to develop better temperature control layouts and to identify potentials for cycle reductions. The ECO-Calculator, an online tool for calculating the product carbon footprint of various design variants, makes it possible to evaluate the impact of these measures on the carbon footprint of plastic parts.
