About us
We, at arweco, offer Lignura® and Otura® – bioplastic compounds with a variety of natural fibers and fiber contents. Lignura® contains local wood fibers from PEFC-certified forestry, while Otura® uses fibers from organic and untreated oat husks. Both compounds enable the processing of different biopolymers and fiber content to meet almost all requirements. The natural color varies depending on the natural fiber: Lignura® has a darker, woody tone, while Otura® is lighter and can be easily dyed. Mechanically, the two compounds are similar, with Otura offering a higher fiber content and high processability. arweco is a brand of Holzmühle Westerkamp GmbH.

Otura: oat fiber reinforced biopolymer compound
Otura stands for our oat fiber reinforced biopolymer compound, containing of up to 35% of oat fiber from milled oat hulls. Oat hulss are a by-product of the grain processing industry, which are produced in vast amounts. We return this by-product to the material cycle in a value-adding way and thus save a significant amount of the costly biopolymer. In addition to the cost savings, the natural fiber also contributes to a reinforcing effect of the compound. This compound ist especially designed for the use in injection molding process. With the addition of a few percent of color pigments, the compounds can also achieve excellent coloring during injection molding.
