Lignura: wood fiber reinforced biopolymer compounds

Lignura is the name of our biopolymer compound, which contains up to 35% wood fibres sourced from sustainably managed forests. Wood fibres are a valuable raw material that are often produced as a by-product of wood processing. We reintroduce these fibres into the material cycle in a way that adds value, thereby saving a significant amount of the costly biopolymer.

In addition to the cost savings, the natural fibre also helps to reinforce the compound, thereby improving its mechanical strength. This compound is specifically designed for use in injection moulding. By adding just a few per cent of colour pigments, the compounds can achieve excellent colouration even during the injection moulding process.
