BLOW-MOLD STRUCTURING
Precise 3D-LaserEngravings can be perfectly formed in parts from blow molds and used in the A-view area. The use of blow molds in the production of plastics is the first choice when it comes to high economic quantities. 3D-LlaserEngraving is used to ensure that the highest level of surface quality is also possible in this process. Sharp-edged and detailed engravings can be carried out digitally and make it possible to compensate optically for production-related molding losses in series production. The engravings can also be lasered deeper in areas that are difficult to demold, in order to create a uniform image in the product. But even there are further purely technical advantages: vent holes in steel and aluminum molds could be specifically integrated into the design of the engraving. Technical properties such as flow behavior can be easily influenced by the use of fine, very round engravings. Develop your quality requirements for blow molds with KRÜTH – suitable for your special applications.

Book Modern Methods for Mirror Polishing
The polishing book for practical use. Who is this book for? First and foremost for practitioners who want to check their knowledge and are curious to see if there are any good ideas that can be used to optimise their daily work. But we are also thinking of foremen, plant managers and entrepreneurs who would like to shed some light on the dark secrets of polishing. We have received a lot of positive feedback from students and lecturers in recent years, as there has been virtually no detailed literature on the subject of polishing up to now. What topics are covered? We worked on it for a whole year and put over 40 years of experience into it. The result is a very informative, clear and easy-to-understand workbook. Over 460 photos and illustrations show you in clear steps how to achieve the required polish quickly and easily. These are the topics: 1. basics: types of polish, surface values, measuring methods. 2. workplace: the right equipment. 3. tools: from fibre files to diamond paste. 4 The practice: Presentation of generally applicable processing steps. 5. the mould: Step by step, you will see and learn how the surfaces (e.g. slots, webs, radii) of a mould are machined of a mould are processed. 6 Alternative methods: The right tools for success. 7. maintenance: A few steps to a repaired mould. 8 Aluminium: This material can also be machined to a brilliant finish.

The boxes can be stacked and unstacked quickly and safely, which increases volume efficiency.

BOY 25 E
At the booth of our partner company OPM Mechatronic GmbH, a BOY 25 E will be exhibited, on which cheque cards are produced. The BOY 25 E is based on a well proven design. Since 1968, more than 25,000 machines of this series have been delivered. Significant innovation is the increase to 250 kN clamping force and the possibility of a differential injection, which provides increased injection speeds. With further optimizations such as the use of high speed pistons and an hydraulic pump with 10 % more conveying volume, a clear increase of the machine speeds, improved dynamics and a shorter dry cycle time could be achieved. The BOY 25 E is characterized by highest precision and reliability. With a footprint of 2.1 m², the extremely compact injection moulding machine is simple, clear and ergonomically designed. The cantilevered clamping unit features easy access and room for numerous options including automated systems. Six different sized injection units combined with seven different screw diameters offer a wide range of individual equipment options. Thus, higher injection speeds are possible by differential injection with the 250-11, 250-16, and the 250-39 units. A multitude of thermoplastics, elastomers, silicones and thermosets as well as metals and ceramics (PIM-Technology) can be processed trouble-free on the BOY 25 E.

BOY 35 Electric
In addition to the proven and energy-saving servo-hydraulic machines of the established E series, our portfolio now also includes the BOY Electric series in the 350-1000 kN clamping force range. The BOY Electric therefore offers all the advantages of an allelectric injection moulding machine in terms of high dynamics and parallel movements. For example, the drives for injection, dosing and ejector on a BOY Electric are realised electromechanically.

BOY XS E
You will find a BOY XS E directly on our booth 20-D22, on which 4-fold windows made of PP are produced - a typical example of small part injection moulding. The cantilevered two-platen clamping unit of the BOY XS E with diagonal configuration of the tie bars makes the plasticising unit, the mould space and the ejector easily accessible and facilitates the integration of automation equipment. A special mould holder for micro moulds of many well-known standard mould manufacturers is optionally available for the BOY XS E. With a clamping force of 100 kN on a floor space of 1.02 m², the BOY XS E offers a wide range of applications in the micro and sprueless small part injection moulding with innovative and proven technologies. The BOY XS E is not equipped as common with this size injection moulding machines with a plunger type injection but with a reciprocating plasticizing screw with diameters from 8 to 18 mm working after the „first in first out“ principal and with a specific injection pressures up to 3128 bar. The intelligent design is ideally suited for the requirements of micro injection moulding. The smallest injection unit of the BOY XS E with screw diameter of 8 mm assures shortest residence times – a great advantage for considerate processing of temperature-sensitive materials. The highly demanding production process with the 8 mm screw - which must always be considered in detail from application to application - requires the attention / compliance of the process-relevant injection moulding parameters. Not only the screen format of the intuitive ALPHA 6 control has been changed to 16:9, but the more modern visualisation with new symbols and added functions ensure an absolute precision and repeatability with easy operability.

Bright colors for more green on the blue planet - Bright colors for more green on the blue planet
Sustainability is on everyone’s lips, and the Thuringian company GRAFE from Blankenhain is also involved in the development of specific masterbatches for corresponding applications. “We have been working on the coloring of bio-based and home-compostable materials for some time now,” reports Lars Schulze, Head of Color Development and Material Sciences. “We were able to successfully establish the first projects on the market and commercialise them. We have gained extensive experience and done a lot of development work. We will continue to push forward the projects with a sustainable character.” Home compostable products meet the highest standards of environmental protection, according to the company. For example, the company has successfully colored coffee capsules in a very elaborate development project. “Given the strict guidelines according to which the masterbatches may only contain certain ingredients and the pigments can only be used in limited concentrations, this is quite a demanding task. Nevertheless, we succeeded in over-coloring the dark base material, explains Schulze. In the end, the colors maroon, light grey, brilliant blue, blue-grey, petrol brilliant, olive brilliant, violet brilliant as well as beige and berry were used from GRAFE’s Modalen range. The certification came into effect on 14 August 2020. “We are currently working on PHBV projects,” Schulze reports. This is a home compostable, non-toxic, biocompatible plastic that is produced naturally by bacteria and offers a good alternative for many non-biodegradable, synthetic polymers. “Besides the difficulties of the biopolymers currently on offer, in terms of processing, inherent color and temperature resistance, another major challenge is their coloring or over-coloring. Both the plastic base material and the additives should have as little impact on the environment as possible and be biodegradable in order to achieve the certification goals,” explains the expert...
