At Fakuma 2026, Hellweg Maschinenbau offers visitors the opportunity to experience the grinding of plastics, which are generally considered particularly challenging in this respect, using samples they bring themselves. At booth A1-1005, two fully functional mills with working widths of 230 mm and 600 mm, respectively, are ready to demonstrate their performance even under difficult conditions. The expanded range of materials on display, including films, high-performance plastics, and technical fibers, illustrates the virtually unlimited application possibilities of Hellweg mills.
The key to this versatility lies in Hellweg's consistent application of true shear cutting technology for the clean comminution of the feed material. The result is a perfectly homogeneous regrind with minimal fines, a narrow particle size distribution from 1 mm to 50 mm, and a uniform, smooth-edged geometry, making it ideally suited for subsequent recycling stages. This even applies to soft TPE types without the need for additional, energy-intensive cooling of the material or the mill.
Managing Director Mark Hellweg explains: “Extensive testing in our in-house technical center, as well as practical experience with our customers’ materials, has shown us that we can meet any challenge. Anyone who would like to see this for themselves is welcome to bring samples of their ‘problematic’ material to our booth.” Registration is not required, but can be arranged by contacting Louis Hartel (l.hartel@hellweg-maschinenbau.de).
