Further developments increase the efficiency and quality of ground materials.
At prs Europe, Hellweg Maschinenbau presents current developments in its portfolio of digitally controlled, effective and energy-saving shredding machines for plastics recycling.
At prs Europe, taking place on May 5th and 6th in Amsterdam, Hellweg Maschinenbau will present the latest developments in its portfolio of digitally controlled, efficient, and energy-saving shredding machines for plastics recycling. The focus will be on innovations in the high-performance wet shredding mill and advancements in digitalization. The expanded range of grinding results showcased at the trade fair extends from films and high-performance plastics to technical fibers, illustrating the virtually unlimited application range of the mills from Roetgen.
Wet Shredding Mill for Perfect Flakes
The wet shredding mill with forced feed, introduced at the end of 2023, remains a pioneering technology for film recycling. With its drive concept, which includes motors with a power output of 45 kW to 110 kW, and its low power consumption of only around 70 kWh to 90 kWh, it continues to set standards for efficiency at throughputs of up to 5,000 kg of film. New results show that this high energy efficiency is also achieved when cutting nonwovens, textiles, or pulp.
The double-shear cutting process produces flakes of consistently optimal quality with perfect particle size distribution and geometry. Thanks to their sharp-edged and, above all, flat shape, the flakes are ideally suited for further processing. The special knife arrangement and the associated pulling cutting action reduce the unwanted fines content to a minimum. The now available, further developed locking and operating concept allows the machine to be hydraulically closed and locked. In daily use, this translates into enormous time savings during maintenance.
