Bio Plast POM - Innovative biogranulate NOPLA®

NOPLA® is a biodegradable and compostable biogranulate made from non-artificial potato starch, with the starch remaining chemically unmodified. The innovative material can be used to produce finished products through injection molding, extrusion and thermoforming on existing machine parks. Products made from NOPLA® are not considered plastic, offering a sustainable alternative for various applications.

The main focus will be the “Single Use Plastics” applications that have been banned in Europe, such as straws, clips etc. First applications in airplane cutlery and flowerpots have already been realized.

NOPLA® products are:
• Patented: the patent protects the breakthrough method of preparing the starch mixture without chemical modification
• Innovative: obtaining TPS thermoplastic starch solely through mechanical processes
• Biodegradable: NOPLA® and its end products are biodegradable in the aquatic environment and soil
• (Home) Compostable: NOPLA® biogranulates and their end products compost under both industrial composting and home composting conditions (confirmed by tests and certificates obtained from TUV Austria)
• Food contact compliant: the materials are suitable for food contact products
