BASF Polyurethanes GmbH in Lemförde: The Heart of the Polyurethane World for Over 60 Years
At BASF Polyurethanes GmbH in Lemförde, we develop, produce, and distribute high-quality plastic solutions for almost all industries and sectors. Plastics play an essential role in modern life: they keep food fresh, homes warm, and make driving safe. At the same time, they also present challenges.
Our site in Lower Saxony is part of BASF’s Performance Materials division. Together with customers worldwide, we develop innovations for industries such as transportation, consumer goods, industrial applications, and construction. Our research and development cover all phases of the plastic lifecycle: manufacturing (MAKE), usage (USE), and recycling (RECYCLE).
MAKE: Improving plastic manufacturing – from product design and raw material selection to the manufacturing process itself.
USE: Optimizing the strengths of plastics – lightweight, robustness, and heat resistance.
RECYCLE: Closing loops at the end of the product lifecycle.
We continuously work on improving our plastic portfolio to contribute to a sustainable future.
Elastollan® – Versatility and Quality
Our thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) Elastollan® stands for reliability, product quality, and cost-effectiveness. It can be extruded into hoses, cable sheathing, conveyor belts, belts, films, and profiles, as well as processed using blow molding and injection molding. Whether aromatic or aliphatic, extremely soft or glass fiber reinforced, flame retardant or highly transparent – Elastollan® has proven its versatility in all industrial sectors over the past decades.
