About us
Customer-oriented masterbatch expertise
In order to provide you with professional solutions, we as a branch of AKRO-PLASTIC GmbH maximize synergies in compounding that are available to us in research, development and production. AF-COLOR has been operating under its own name in the international Feddersen Group for over 20 years. During this time, we have continuously invested in expanding environmentally friendly production facilities. And the areas of research and development as well as sales and logistics are constantly expanding.
Today, with our modern production facilities, we are one of the leading manufacturers of technically high-quality masterbatches, carbon black and additive concentrates - and for a wide range of different customer requirements. With our DQS certificates (ISO 9001, ISO 50001, ISO 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001) we guarantee compliance with common standards. In order to meet the ever-growing market requirements, we are continually expanding our production capacities.

Masterbatches based on polyketone
Polyketone-based masterbatches for maintaining polymer properties Polyketone (PK) is an engineering thermoplastic polymer and has outstanding characteristic properties. Its better environmental compatibility compared to polymer types such as PA, PBT or POM rounds off the properties of this versatile material. PK compounds can be used unreinforced, glass fibre reinforced or carbon fibre reinforced. All masterbatches in our PK series can be customised to your selected polymer grade. Colouring with a polyketonebased masterbatch retains the aforementioned positive properties of the polymer. Polyketone can be used in a wide range of industries and is also suitable for drinking water, food contact and toys. Our AF-Color® PK masterbatches are available in accordance with standards and are approved at least in accordance with the regulatory guidelines of Regulation EU 10/2011. Certificates of conformity are available on request.

Masterbatches signal orange for the E&E industry
The orange colour RAL 2003 has established itself as a signal colour for components in electromobility. The decisive factor here is the long-term durability of the colour, while at the same time maintaining the technical properties of the polymer used. Colouring with our masterbatch results in a bright and brilliant orange colour. It therefore ensures permanent and clearly recognisable marking, especially for parts that are under tension. In order to offer our customers the greatest possible flexibility, we have designed our portfolio in accordance with RAL 2003 to include a wide range of engineering polymers available on the market.

Masterbatches based on PCR carrier
Keeping plastics in circulation is a key strategy to minimise resource consumption and promote a sustainable economy. It combines environmental responsibility with economic efficiency and and social progress. The use of Post-Consumer Recycled plastics (PCR) offers many benefits, both environmental and economic. · Resource conservation and waste reduction · Reduced carbon footprint · Fulfilment of recycling quotas · Increasing consumer awareness and responsibility Deep black & sustainable – consistent and efficient! The challenge in the production of PCR-based masterbatches is the often fluctuating base colour and quality of the PCR materials. Our newly developed AF-Carbon® PE 950934 schwarz PCR, based on post-consumer recycled LDPE combined with high colour-strength carbon black, provides a consistent and cost-efficient colouring. With our masterbatch, we support you in achieving your sustainability goals. In practice, it impresses with both its processability and colour intensity. Request your masterbatch sample now. We are happy to assist you in the processing stage with our in-house application engineering.

Highly effective purging compound for thermoplastics
Our AF-Clean® purging compounds for injection moulding and extrusion systems are suitable for all thermoplastics and offer reliable and efficient high-performance cleaning. The combination of active ingredients removes polymer residues and colour residues effectively and thoroughly without damaging the machine components. - Particularly efficient when changing colours and materials - Reduction of cleaning and set-up times - Minimisation of production scrap - Improvment of production quality - Extending equipment life Processing recommendations: The granules should be used pure, no mixing is required. Cleaning should be carried out immediately after the end of production. A high dosing speed and high back pressure are recommended as processing parameters. Our cleaning compounds do not contain any corrosive components, which means that they can remain in the machine without problems. The cylinder should be purged first – after cleaning the cylinder, the hot runner can be purged.

NIR detectable black masterbatch based on PCR carrier
The colouring of plastics using carbon black is a particular problem in the packaging industry. Modern recycling machines use NIR sensors for automatic plastic sorting. Carbon black pigments in plastics absorb NIR radiation, which greatly impairs detection and sorting by polymer type (PE, PP, PET, etc.). NIR meets PCR To improve recyclability in conjunction with the use of post-consumer recyclate (PCR), we have developed a new, carbon black-free masterbatch. The formulation of our AF-Carbon® PE 950938 NIR black PCR is based entirely on a PCR carrier material and enables reliable NIR detection with simultaneous black colouring of the end product. The plastic can therefore be fed back into the recycling process and kept in the cycle for a second time.
