Pioneers of plastics recycling since 1985 - Our history The history of our family-run company begins in 1985 in Mühlheim am Main. Josef Wirnik founds a grinding company that reconditions high-quality rejects from the injection molding industry for reprocessing in order to promote the circular economy. For a long time, we campaigned for the industry to provide us with the surplus plastic, separated and labeled, instead of simply disposing of it. Recyclates were not in demand at that time, regranulates did not exist. When the turnaround comes and the demand for recycled material increases, we quickly become a sought-after partner for many companies thanks to our experience. At the turn of the millennium, we put our first compounding plant (extruder) into operation and set up a laboratory to process the ground material ourselves from then on. Since then, we have ensured the consistently high quality of our compounds through constant analysis and testing of raw materials and products. This is what our customers appreciate about pal plast. Our specialty compounds are specifically designed for various applications, with the majority going to the automotive industry. But our national and international customers also include the construction and electrical industries as well as many other sectors. Particularly sought-after re-compounds are, for example, scratch-resistant or low-noise versions. Son Amit Wirnik, who joined the family business in 1995, has been accompanying his father Josef Wirnik in the role of managing director since 2007. Together, they have since ensured the future-proof further development of pal plast. The commissioning of the new P2 plant in 2020 is a milestone - on the way to the future, it already fulfills our ideas of a holistic sustainability standard. With P2, we are not only meeting the permanently increasing demand for re-compounds, but are also creating a production facility in which our employees feel comfortable, which makes careful use of the resources of our environment, and which nevertheless produces at a consistently high level.

We produce high-quality, reinforced and refined PP, PE and PS compounds in Freiburg under the trade name Piolen®. As an official distribution partner of Sabic Germany, we sell Sabic Automotive products such as PP compounds and STAMAX LGF in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

The plasma plastics technology program today covers the entire spectrum of machine and automation technology from simple suction conveyors and sprue pickers to completely computer-controlled central conveyor systems and robotic systems. While the automation components and systems are supplied by leading specialist companies, all plasticizing screws and other spare parts come from our own production. With our motto “everything from a single source”, plasma Kunststofftechnik has become a competent partner for many injection molders in Germany and Europe over the past 45 years.

The company’s headquarters are located in Ystad, Sweden, where the business was founded in 1968. PolyTherm GmbH & Co. Kunststoffveredelungs KG, based in Preußisch Oldendorf, was founded in 1995. The focus is on the preparation and processing of high-quality plastics. Here we concentrate on the group of thermoplastic elastomers, especially TPU, TPC, TPS and TPV. We can implement almost any form of additive and coloring. When developing products, we take into account the requirements of REACH, RoHS or other guidelines. The raw materials and finished products are subject to constant revision by our QM in our in-house laboratory. We are certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001-2015. Our trademark Polylan (TPU) is available based on polyether or polyester, in natural or dyed. The Shore hardness ranges from Shore A70 to Shore D60 for injection molding applications and from Shore A70 to Shore A98 for extrusion applications. Our Polysan in the versions TPC, TPS and TPV is also available in a wide Shore hardness range. Our product portfolio is supplemented by prepared and refined regenerated versions. Another range of services is the contract grinding of reject parts, starting blocks or sprues. Of course, these can also be re-compounded, re-colored or further refined with additional additives according to your specifications. An important contribution from us to the sustainable, resource-saving use of raw materials - and all based on our many years of experience in the processing of high-quality plastics.

PlanTool from toolmakers for toolmakers is the main product of pro-PlanTool. We are the planning specialists for tool making and project manufacturers such as special machine construction. Due to our planning expertise, we also offer solutions for simple processing of delivery call-offs for series production.

Procotex France is specialized in the milling or cutting of Carbon leftovers lots (sized or un-sized) and aramids. We truly supply “The Sustainable Carbon Fiber”. Milling (60-300µ), chopped 6mm sized (PU/PA/Epoxy…) and un-sized, granulates. Especially for compounds we supply a large range of sized carbon & aramid granulates. For electrical conductivity we offer a range of low cost standard and intermediate modulus carbon fiber granulates, all available in large quantities. For wear resistance and metal replacement compounds we offer a range of para-aramid granulates with different sizings. With its new “state of the art” 16,500m2 manufacturing facility for recycled carbon fiber, all centralized at the new plant in Plouay, Brittany, Procotex France is today the largest recycler of carbon fibers in the world. A recent study confirmed the low C02 or Carbon Emission Footprint of our carbon fiber recycling plant confirming that our carbon fiber is “The Sustainable Carbon Fiber”.
